Landing OT Tyler Booker is crucial for Florida’s 2022 recruiting class
By Jeremy Klump
Florida Gators fans have been happy with the Gators’ recruiting efforts so far for their 2022 class. However, there is one big-named recruit that Florida football fans want to see the Gators land, and that is offensive tackle, Tyler Booker.
The IMG Academy offensive lineman stands at 6-5 and weighs in at 325 pounds.
Booker is currently ranked as the No. 42 recruit in the nation and the No. 5 offensive tackle (according to 247 Sports).
The Gators have had a need for speed, landing two of the fastest receivers in the 2022 recruiting class.
The Gators have also stayed hot, landing a commitment from cornerback Julian Humphrey, who will be the next elite Gators cornerback.
Tyler Booker is a must-have recruit for the Gators.
Florida’s been landing solid recruits all offseason, whether it’s the speedy receivers, elite cornerbacks, a kicker who will likely start as a freshman, or a linebacker from the state of Alabama.
However, offensive tackle has been a spot where they need to land a stud and have failed to do so.
Offensive tackle Tony Livingston committed to the Gators in March, and while Livingston is a four-star tackle, he will need time to develop his body before he can be counted on. Livingston has a chance to be a future stud for the Gators offensive line, but the coaching staff will need to maximize his potential. Luckily for Livingston, he’s going to the right school for that.
Booker has an NFL-type body, and the potential is right there too. He would contribute to the Gators early in his career and become an elite starting tackle.
Florida’s offensive line is solid, and starting left tackle Richard Gouraige highlights the group. However, they need some young stars that they can count on, and Booker would be just that.
It is crucial that the Gators land the in-state stud offensive tackle because Booker could be protecting 2022 quarterback Nick Evers for years to come!
