Kyle Pitts is worth the most guaranteed money for a TE in NFL history
By Jeremy Klump
Former Florida Gators tight end Kyle Pitts was the No. 1 player in the 2021 NFL Draft.
He was the first non-quarterback selected when the Atlanta Falcons picked him with the No. 4 overall pick.
The hype around Pitts is real and do not rule him out to win Offensive Rookie of the year. Yes, he’s a tight end, but he’s that good and the best tight end I have ever scouted.
Many people will say that is me being a homer, but NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah polled NFL executives about who the most likely Hall of Fame player is from the 2021 NFL Draft. Their unanimous decision was Pitts, and I agree with them.
Falcons fans can rejoice because Pitts officially signed his contract today. Pitts signed a four-year, $32.9 million contract that was fully guaranteed. Pitts’ $32.9 million guaranteed is the most fully guaranteed money ever for a tight end.
Kyle Pitts is worth every last dollar.
I’m sure there will be some haters who think Pitts isn’t worth all the money, and even some who still believe he wasn’t worth that high if a draft pick. And hey, guess what, that’s fine.
It is 2021, people will always find a way to hate on something or someone. That is just the sad reality of the times we are living.
Luckily for Pitts, he has $32.9 million reasons not to care what people think. He also had incredible talent and will show he is worth the money.
Pitts is already a top-five tight end in the NFL without ever taking a snap. The Falcons did trade wide reviver Julio Jones this offseason, and while Pitts won’t replace Jones, he will receiver more targets from quarterback Matt Ryan.
The Falcons will still have one of the best offenses in football this season, and Pitts is a significant reason why. If you are thinking about which tight end to take in fantasy football, taking Pitts is a no-brainer.
His incredible talent at the tight end position will allow others to thrive while also getting his own stats.
Atlanta may not win many games in 2021, but they will at least know they have a superstar at the tight end position to keep building around.
