No. 2: Florida football fans should be excited about life getting back to normal

A significant factor that somehow isn’t talked about enough is how much of an impact COVID-19 had on the Florida Gators. Let’s start with the obvious one, not having spring ball and a regular offseason to get better.

Florida struggled a ton in 2020 on defense with things that could’ve been easily avoided with more practice time and preparation. You could blame the coaches right away, but some things were out of their control.

COVID-19 impacted the Gators’ ability to see prepare correctly, and even though every other team had the same issues, it seemed like the Gators really let it impact them on game day.

Another factor was not having Ben Hill Griffin Stadium packed. The Swamp is electric when it is filled, and it’s one of the best home-field advantages in college football. Not having the fans to help get the players pumped up had a big impact on the Gators.

Luckily we are getting closer and closer to having our normal lives back, and that normalcy should excite Gators fans. Florida has been practicing all offseason and fine-tuning their game. The Swamp will be packed in 2021, and opponents will have to worry about playing in Gainesville.
