Florida football will open the season against an Aaron Best-led team that averaged almost 41 points and threw for 309 yards a game in 2019.

Starting quarterback, Eric Barriere, ended the 2019 season throwing for an impressive 3,712 yards, placing him second in passing in the Big Sky Conference.

Barriere also found success on the ground, accumulating 558 yards with his legs.

Prediction

I expect Eastern Washington to find early offensive success, catching an eager Florida defense off guard.

Early penalties will prolong a few drives until Todd Grantham’s squad eases into the game and subsequently halts the EWU offense.

Offensively, Florida should impose their will any way they see fit.

I expect Dan Mullen to mix in some runs, giving the tailbacks a taste of the 2020 season, while Trask clears 175 through the air before being subbed out.

Eventually, backup quarterback Emory Jones will get a taste of the action as Florida football cruises past coach Best and Eastern Washington.
