Florida football: 5 non-conference opponents we’d like to see
2
Kansas Jayhawks
Just a one-off
My only real draw to a game like this is two-fold.
One, I’m from Kansas and two, Les Miles.
It would be great to see Florida football go up against Miles a few more times before he finally hangs up the whistle.
We had great games when Miles was at LSU.
From 2005 to 2016, Florida football was 5-9 against the Miles-coached Tigers. There was a string from 2013 to 2015 where the Gators lost three in a row to the Bayou Bengals.
It would be nice to get a little redemption against Miles.
Unfortunately, Kansas is not LSU. And, for the record, Florida has never played Kansas in football.
The Jayhawks have been awful before Miles took over last season. In fact, since winning the Orange Bowl under Mark Mangino in 2007, Kansas has been 34-101 and has had five coaching changes.
And, let’s be honest, football in Kansas is certainly not football in Florida.
I’m afraid it would be a whipping that Florida football would put on the Jayhawks, but it would also be a whooping we’d be giving Miles.
I’ll take that.
