Home-and-Home

To get back to reality, a home-and-home series with the Sooners would be exciting.

They bring a high-powered offense with a pedigree of great quarterbacks to bear against a Florida squad that has produced some of the best defenses in the country.

This game would be a huge national draw just because you would likely have two nationally-ranked teams battling it out.

Of course, Oklahoma fans won’t soon forget the last, and only, time they played Florida football. The Gators came away with a 14-10 win in the BCS Championship game in 2008.

We’ll never forget it either.

But here you would have two storied programs getting after each other on a national stage.

It wouldn’t matter where you played this game, it would be exciting to watch. Seeing Dan Mullen coach against Lincoln Riley would be great for the program, if not just the audience.

I would want to see that Oklahoma offense stymied by the Florida football defense if nothing else.

For the record, the 2008 BCS title game was the only time these two teams have played each other.
