The Florida basketball season came to an abrupt end when the NCAA and conferences halted any postseason play, but that presents a good opportunity to look to 2020-21.

It wasn’t the way any fans wanted to end, let alone Florida basketball. But here we are without college sports as the NCAA has canceled all play for the rest of the year.

That includes the NCAA Tournament, meaning all teams — including Florida basketball — had their national title hopes dashed because of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

While they weren’t necessarily considered a title contender, Florida basketball could have made that famous Cinderella run that we see just about every season.

They could have made a run in the SEC tournament to garner a higher seed and been extremely competitive once the tournament started.

It’s easy to feel bad for someone like Kerry Blackshear Jr. who was a graduate transfer from Virginia Tech, seeking one last shot at a league and national title. Now, that shot is gone.

For all their ups and downs, the one thing working in favor of Florida basketball heading into next season is youth. There’s not a single senior on the roster, so there is a lot to look forward to for the 2020-21 season.

With that in mind, it’s worth a look to see what the starting lineup for the 2020-21 Florida basketball team might be.
