Florida football: One BIG Georgia recruit flips and more
Florida football these days are making noise on and off the field, in a good way. On the field, they are getting ready to take on Virginia in the Orange Bowl in Miami.
Off the field, Florida football is taking care of business in the recruiting area.
This week they went on home visits and other recruiting duties and now we start to see the fruits of their labor.
Today, Josh Braun declared he was going to attend the University of Florida. He will enroll early and should be at the practice on Friday in preparation for the Orange Bowl.
This four-star OL out of Live Oak FL. He had committed to Georgia but today chose to stay where his heart always has been: Florida football. Josh states:
"“I grew up in Florida. It’s the hometown school. I grew up watching the Florida Gators and hearing about the Florida Gators, knew people that went to play for Florida. Some of my coaches played for Florida, and their academics, I think they are seventh in the nation for public schools. An opportunity like that, you can’t pass up.”"
But there is much more than football for why Braun wants to come to Florida:
"“I want to play for Florida because it is a great academic school, and it will enable me to accomplish the goals I have set for myself,” Braun said. “I will be pushed academically while bettering my self as an athlete on the field. After re-examining my choices, the University of Florida is where I am supposed to be.”"

That is just it right there. For all of you recruits that have not yet decided, 7th in the nation he says. Getting that quality education that Florida can provide is very important. We are happy to have you and welcome you to Gator Nation!
More to Come
Rashad Torrence II, safety out of Georgia, is said to be signing any day — Dec. 16, or so I hear. Also would not be surprised to see him end up in Gator territory.
Henry Parish, running back out of Miami was a Pitt commit but just as recently as the 11th of December he posted this tweet making himself free again. Dec. 11, he had his home visit, three days later he says he is de-committing from Pitt. Hmm. My money says any day we see him in Orange and Blue.
C.J. Dixson, QB out of Grayson, Georgia is a big pro-style QB that could fit into the Florida football system fast. He has all the talent you can need to run the RPO offense. He is fast and can read a defense very well. He just de-committed from the University of Illinois. Let’s see if we can give him a little Gator love and make him welcome.
Not the end
this is not the end of the recruitment at all. There will several that are making their official visit this weekend at the Swamp. There are plenty more in the weeks to come. And of course, don’t forget about the 2021 class. They are in full swing with 2021 recruits as well.
For now, let’s welcome the new Gators and let’s all give a shout out to the ones that have not yet committed. Gators together.
