5. Jake Fromm, quarterback

I was tempted to leave quarterback Jake Fromm off the list, but quite frankly, I couldn’t find another player to keep an eye on.

Fromm had a lot of fanfare coming into the season, but that has fizzled to nothing now.

A large part of that is because of his inconsistency.

More from Hail Florida Hail

Against Notre Dame, Fromm had just 187 yards passing and against South Carolina, he was just a hair over 50% in his completion percentage.

But, against Tennessee, he missed just five throws (24-for-29) and had 288 yards passing.

It all comes down to what Georgia head coach Kirby Smart has for a game plan. If they pass, I think Florida can pressure Fromm into making mistakes.

But, if Florida football is too worried about the running game (and they should be) then Fromm could find openings downfield and make the Gators pay for it.

Like I said, it all comes down to the game plan and which Jake Fromm shows up.

However, I think Florida’s defense can make life difficult for Fromm by varying up blitz packages and coverage schemes.

They will need to force Fromm to check down at the line of scrimmage and get in his head. They do that, and it could be a long day for Fromm and the Georgia offense.

Next. Gators need a healthy defense against Georgia. dark

Remember, No. 6 Florida takes on No. 8 Georgia at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2 in Jacksonville.
