Florida football: Here’s 2 recruits the Gators want to sway
As Florida football approaches the back end of the 2019 season the 2020 recruits have all but found a home. That does not mean that as a coach or an organization stops recruiting.
If you’re Florida football (or any other college football program), now is certainly not the time to rest on your recruiting laurels.
In fact, it just mean time to throw all you have at the very few that are still on a fence or might be persuaded.
Just because a guy has committed does not mean he cannot de-commit and sign to another school.
When you are dealing with teenage guys that are making life-changing decisions it is not uncommon.
Sometimes it may just take a school to show a recruit that wants to welcome them to a place they will call home that changes their mind.
I will introduce you two a couple of recruits that might just need a little encouragement to find their way to Gainsville.
Marcus Fleming WR
Fleming is a wide receiver out of Northwestern High School in Miami. He has good hands and runs a decent rout. But what he has to go with the hands is flat out speed.
This man just separates and in a hurry. A track star with hands, a dream for any offensive coordinator. Coach Dan Mullen could use him in many different ways. He can return kicks and punts and once he gets outside the oncoming line, no one can catch him.

I know he has committed to Miami, but it is a soft commitment I would call it. The Florida football staff is still in contact with him and he still has an interest in the Gators.
"“I really like the Gators because it’s home,” Fleming said on what he likes about Florida. “I don’t really have to go too far from the house to get here. I like the program here and how the program works.”"
His sister also attends the University of Florida, so it is not like he is not familiar or does not think of it as a real possibility for him. All he needs is for all of Florida football country to shout out to and tell him he is more than welcome to be a Gator.
Lawrence Toafili RB
Toafili is a running back out of Pinellas Park High School in Largo, Fla. He Has the ability to do multiple things for your team.
He can return kicks and of course, he can run the ball. He has great hands and can catch the ball out of the backfield and be very effective. But it is his natural ability to avoid a defender that makes him so special.
He is fast but does not have great speed, what he has is great quickness.
When a defender approaches and thinks he has a clean shot at Toafili, he changes direction. I know this is high praise but he reminds me of a Barry Sanders-type runner. Even if it a run that might be four yards, it still makes you say ‘wow.’
Okay, he is committed to the school up at Florida State and seems to be headed that way. But he does think highly of the Florida football as well;
"“Coach Knox is a very smart dude and he knows what he’s talking about,” he said on his impressions of Knox. “He knows how to develop players and all of that stuff. I really just got a different vibe from them and got to see how he was as a person.”"
I know the staff of the Gators would love to see him come to Florida and just maybe the little game at the end of the year helps him come this way.
Winning is what most players want more than anything and if he comes to Florida he is sure to have the winning he needs. So if the Gators go on and say end up in the playoffs, just maybe he decides to come play in The Swamp.
No. 6 Florida football will take on No. 8 Georgia in Jacksonville at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2.
