The future of Florida football is in good hands. The coaches for the Gators work hard at keeping up the high level of talent it takes to keep a college football program in the hunt each year.

Recruiting is not only part of the job it may be the most important. Let’s face it you can be a great coach but without some good talent all that coaching can only go so far. But not for Florida football.

The Gators have a long list of recruits that have committed and a long list of those that have not yet done so. There are a couple of recruits that are on the line with Florida right now and I believe they would be perfect fits.

Marc Britt, a wide receiver/DB from Miami Christian School is a big strong receiver that has narrowed his choices and Florida is one.  Darnell Washington is a tight end out Desert Pines Las Vegas, Nevada. This guy is just what the Gators need and is wanted by all.

Marc Britt

Britt is a four-star prospect out of Miami that plays on both sides of the ball. He is a great receiver that has really good hands and speed. He makes his cuts really well and helps his QB by coming back to the ball often.  But the position that they see him at for Florida football is safety. He is a sure tackler and hits with force.

The best part of his defensive game might be his instinct for the ball. He knows how to run a good route so when he sees a receiver going out he knows just about what that guy is going to do. He gets good breaks on the ball and when he gets his hands on the ball, he knows what to do with it. He also seems to like the idea of playing safety for the Gators;

"“I think safety will be fun, I would have no problem playing it and they have a big need at safety.” He also thinks he would fit nice in the defense, “I think the defense is doing great,” he said, “They play hard and I think I would be a good fit for what they do.”"

All that is left is for him to announce that he is a Gator, unfortunately, we all must wait as he will announce on Nov 1. Until then we will wait and welcome him to Gator Nation Nov 1st.

Darnell Washington

this is a guy that can come right in, start for your team and make an impact that day. I know that seems like high praise but this young man is a man. He is just so big and fast that the level of competition in HS is just not doing it for him. He has very nice hands as he catches almost everything thrown his way.

Once he catches the ball his RAC is fantastic. It takes a lot to take him down or even catch him. He goes over the middle with no fear and can change a game on one play. He is being recruited by just about every top school but he has not committed to anyone.

The Gators have a soon to be pro at tight end right now in Kyle Pitts and Washington could right in and take that role once Pitts moves on to Sunday’s.

He would be a great asset and could help as soon as he hits campus. There is a long shot he shows up as a Gator but he did visit on the Oct. 4 and he seemed to like it, then who can resist the Swamp once you been in it?

One thing is for sure, the future of Florida football is in good hands as they have already gotten commitments from some great players for the years to come. But to add a couple of top recruits such as Britt and Washington would go along way to making sure that Florida football is set for future title runs.

Next. Dan Mullen earns what he earns for good reason. dark
