North Carolina vs. South Carolina

When: 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Charlotte, North Carolina (Bank of America Stadium)

How to watch: ESPN with Bob Wischusen, Dan Orlovsky and Allison Williams.

Outlook: This will be North Carolina head coach Mack Brown’s first game against the Gamecocks since 1991. He may have won the 1991 matchup — his only win against South Carolina — but it will be a bit more uphill this season.

Of course, we Florida football fans have a special place in our hearts for South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp — or not.

For this game, South Carolina has 16 returning starters from last year’s 7-6 team — including four (Caleb Kinlaw, J.T. Ibe, Donell Stanley and Eldridge Thompson) who were granted their sixth year of eligibility (not that it really makes a difference). The Gamecocks do have former Clemson running back Tavien Feaster who could make a big difference in this game.

The Last Line: Here’s another “who cares” games, but North Carolina was terrible last year and even Mack Brown magic won’t make it much better this year.
