The Florida football team opened its fall camp Friday with set drills. However, much like Gator fans, the open of camp signified one thing.

In his Twitter feed, Florida football director of player personnel and recruiting Jamar Chaney may have said it best.

“Day 1 baby … let’s get it, baby,” he tweeted.

Friday marked the first day of fall football camp for the Gators as they are a little less than a month away from the 2019 season opener — Aug. 24 vs. Miami.

And there was plenty to be hyped about.

Practice Friday came on the heels of head coach Dan Mullen addressing the media during Gator Media Days on Thursday.

Among the different topics of discussion for Mullen was the fact that he hopes to see quick progress with the offensive unit.

The Gators return redshirt junior Feleipe Franks under center, but he will have a relatively inexperienced offensive line in front of him.

Mullen said he expects to see evidence that Franks and other quarterbacks have put in work over the summer months to get better.

"“Obviously, the offensive line is a big one where you want to see progress,” Mullen said. “Quarterback. To me, that’s always the biggest one.”"

The players got to have their say on media day:

And, a bold claim from La’Mical Perine:

Fast forward to Friday and the start of the season with the first day of fall practice:

Here’s a brief look at that progression Mullen was talking about on offense:

Another thing Mullen mentioned, that I left out of my post yesterday, was the chip on the Gators’ shoulder and how he hopes it is still there.

"“I certainly hope we still play with a chip on our shoulder,” Mullen said. “There were some things we needed to be a lot better at last season, and we have that chip on our shoulder to get that back.”"

Again, there is less than a month before the Camping World Kickoff between Florida and Miami in Orlando.
