The Ed-meister has been around college football for a very long time.

Since 1984, Orgeron has been a coach in some form or fashion with a college program.

However, it was not until 1988 that Orgeron got his first big break as the defensive line coach with Miami. But, in his four years with the Hurricanes, they never faced off against the Gators.

After a year at Nicholls State, Orgeron became the defensive line coach at Syracuse. This would mark the first time Orgeron faced the Gators — resulting in a 31-10 loss to Florida in the 1999 Orange Bowl.

Orgeron spent six years at Southern California before landing in the SEC at Mississippi. There, the Rebels were 0-1 against Florida in the three seasons Orgeron was with the program.

In 2009, Orgeron went to Tennessee to be an assistant head coach. Same result … a loss to Florida.

After going back to USC for a few seasons, he took over as defensive line coach for LSU under Les Miles, ultimately being named head coach in 2016.

It was at LSU where Orgeron would get his first win against the Gators. In his time in Baton Rouge, Orgeron is 2-2 against Florida.

His overall record against the Gators: 2-5.
