Florida football: How the 2019 opposing coaches have fared against the Gators

If there is a coach that has Florida football’s number, it is Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.

But, most of his wins came as Nick Saban’s defensive coordinator at Alabama. In eight years at Tuscaloosa, Alabama defeated the Gators, five of six games.

He was 3-1 against Florida football prior to his time at Alabama. That includes 2-0 as a graduate assistant at Florida State, 1-0 as defensive backs’ coach at LSU and 0-1 as running back’s coach at Georgia.

Since taking over as head coach at Georgia in 2016, Smart is 2-1 in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

During his tenure since 2016, besides beating Florida two of three times so far, the other thing Smart may be a little infamous for is recently suggesting the rivalry game be moved out of Jacksonville and to campus locations.

His overall record against Florida football: 10-3.
