Florida football: Here’s a list of Gator commits for 2020 season

Now is a good time to see just who has committed to Florida football for the 2020 season. These commits range in position and quality.

Florida football has 13 total commits for the 2020 freshman class.

These commits, according to 247Sports have verbally committed to the Gators following their last season of high school football.

Here’s a list of who has committed to the University of Florida as of now:

Gerald Mincey, OL, Fort Lauderdale, Florida — Mincey is a 6-foot-5, 317-pound offensive lineman with a 3-star rating out of Cardinal Gibbons High School. He was previously committed to the University of Kentucky before switching to Florida on June 9.

Jovens Janvier, OL, Miami, Florida — Janvier is one of Florida’s highest recruits for the class of 2020. The 6-5, 320-pound offensive lineman committed to the Gators on June 7 after previously committing to Louisville back in May. He will finish his high school career at Miami Christian School. Janvier is the No. 32-ranked recruit in Florida.

Jonathan Odom, TE, Tampa, Florida — Odom is a 6-6, 230-pound tight end out of Jesuit High School in Tampa. He has received a shocking 35 offers to play college football and committed to Florida on May 18. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 97 recruit in the state of Florida.

Jaheim Bell, ATH, Valdosta, Georgia — Bell is a 3-star recruit from Valdosta High School. He has 39 offers from schools like Alabama and Auburn but committed to Florida back in April. He is ranked as the No. 35 player out of Georgia.

Avery Helm, CB, Missouri City, Texas — Helm is a 4-star recruit, ranked No. 24 in the state of Texas. He committed to Florida on April 7 but also has offers from Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri and Tennessee.

Anthony Richardson, QB, Gainesville, Florida — Hometown Richardson is the No. 63-ranked player in the state of Florida. He is listed as a dual-threat quarterback out of Eastside High School. He is also ranked as the No. 13 quarterback prospect by 247Sports. Florida International and Florida Atlantic have also offered Richardson scholarships.

Jeremiah Johnson, WR, Homerville, Georgia — The Clinchfield High School product committed to the Gators on March 21 amid having 11 other offers on the table. He is rated as the No. 70 overall prospect in the state of Georgia and is a 3-star recruit.

Morven Joseph, DE, Lakeland, Florida — The weakside defensive end is the No. 72 prospect in the state of Florida. He committed to the Gators on Feb. 15 and has offers from the likes of Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky and LSU.

Johnnie Brown, DT, Tampa, Florida — Brown is another 4-star prospect for the Gators. He committed to Florida on Feb. 2, but has offers from Georgia, Mississippi State, South Florida and Texas A&M. He is rated as the No. 51 overall prospect in the state by 247Sports.

Leonard Manuel, WR, Ocala, Florida — From nearby Ocala (Vanguard High School), Manuel is a 4-star prospect, rated No. 12 in the state of Florida. He has offers on the table from Florida State, Arkansas, Georgia and Georgia Tech among the 17 schools who have offered. Additionally, Manuel is ranked No. 104 nationally.

Rashad Torrence II, S, Marietta, Georgia — Yet another 4-star recruit, Torrence committed to Florida back in December 2018. He is ranked No. 34 overall in the state of Georgia and has offers from Duke, Clemson, Alabama and Auburm among others.

Ja’Quavion Fraziars, WR, Dunnellon, Florida — The No. 42 overall prospect in the state of Florida committed to Florida in December 2018. He ranked as high as No. 25 in the state back in March and has offers from Auburn, Florida State and Georgia.

Gervon Dexter, DE, Lake Wales, Florida — Dexter is rated as the No. 11 overall prospect in the state of Florida and is one of the better strongside defensive ends in the nation. He committed to Florida back in November 2018 and was the Gators’ first commitment for the 2020 class. Dexter is also ranked No. 98 nationally.

Overall, Florida football’s 2020 recruiting class is ranked No. 9 nationally by 247Sports.

The Gators are also in contention for highly-rated linebacker Justin Flowe of California, defensive back Kelee Ringo of Arizona, weakside defensive end Sav’ell Smalls out of Arizona and Texas running back Zachary Evans. All are in the 247Sports top 10 and are uncommitted at this time.
