Until last year’s meeting in Tuscaloosa, Florida and Alabama had not played each other since 2011.
In 37 total games between the two schools, the Crimson Tide hold a 23-14 advantage in the series and are currently on a four-game winning streak against the Gators.

Despite a brief flurry of games in each decade, Florida and Alabama have played many significant games against each other.
Seven times they have hooked up in the SEC Championship, with Florida winning four of the contests. Until Alabama’s meeting with Georgia in 2012 (a truly epic game), the Tide had only played against Florida in the SEC Championship.

Florida and Alabama have not played a meaningful, competitive game since Tim Tebow’s senior year in the 2009 SEC Championship (which Alabama won 32-13).
Since then, Alabama has blown Florida out of the water with the most recent drubbing (42-21) in 2014 setting all kinds of Tide offensive records.
