Auburn

Another team from Alabama who the Gators have not played as much in recent years is the Auburn Tigers.

In 83 meetings, the Tigers hold a slight 43-38-2 advantage over the Gators. This SEC crossover game has had many brilliant moments, which unfortunately, favor Auburn as the Tigers have upset the Gators numerous times.

Auburn has currently won three straight in the series with the most memorable victory in recent match-ups coming in 2007 when the Tigers upset the No.4 ranked Gators with a game-winning field goal in The Swamp.

With the exodus of former Florida head coach Will Muschamp to Auburn as a defensive coordinator, it would only mean more now for us Gator fans if Florida got a shot to tear up his defense.

Considering that Muschamp has thrown some snide comments at the Florida football program here and there and may have stolen away some potential recruits, I would enjoy nothing more than to watch my Gators thrash his defense and make him pay for running the program into the ground.

A Florida-Auburn matchup may not realistically come anytime soon with the different directions that the programs are heading, but maybe at some point before I finish school in Gainesville they can work something out.
