5 Different Players with 6 Or More Interceptions in A Season (Since 2000)
2003: Keiwan Ratliff, nine; 2006: Ryan Smith, eight
2008: Ahmad Black, seven; 2006: Reggie Nelson, six
2000: Lito Sheppard, six
The Florida Gators aren’t all about offense though.
UF has had some talented defensive backs in it’s history as well, which in fact, the Gators have had five different players with six or more interceptions in a season, the most in the SEC since 2000.

What makes this number even more staggering is that in 2006, the Gators had two different players have more than six INTs (Nelson and Smith).
Ratliff’s nine pick-offs are still the most in UF history and it was an SEC record for 11 years until Ole Miss’ Senquez Golson recorded 10 INTs in 2014.
Five of these six players were also drafted in third round or higher in their respective NFL Draft classes, showing that their talent was far from limited to the college game.
