His offenses revolve around predominantly running the football

Despite Nussmeier being one of the more accurate quarterbacks of his time, the former QB has an affinity for running the football as a coach.

As Michigan’s offensive coordinator in 2014, the Wolverines managed a fairly effective ground attack, featuring De’Veon Smith and Derrick Green.

Big Blue’s running backs managed 4.6 rushing yards per carry, with Smith and Green combining for 990 rushing yards on only 190 carries.

During his time with Washington (2009-2011), Nussmeier’s offense was one of the more effective rushing attacks in college football, led by Chris Polk.

Polk ran for 1,113 yards in 2009 and followed that up in 2010 with a school record 1,415 rushing yards and nine touchdowns.

With talented junior Kelvin Taylor set to take over the reins for the Gators in 2015, Florida’s rushing attack will surely be the focal point of the offense under Nussmeier.
