OLB Leonard Floyd, RS Junior- Georgia

Leonard Floyd has been an impact player since he first began starting as a redshirt freshman for Mark Richt’s Georgia Bulldogs.

In his two years of starting, Floyd has amassed 110 tackles, 12.5 sacks and 18 tackles for loss as a primary pass-rushing OLB.

The 2015 Preseason All-American will surely be a thorn in the Gators side come Oct. 31 in Jacksonville.

Head coach Jim McElwain and Offensive Coordinator Doug Nussmeier had better provide help to potential starting tackles Martez Ivey and David Sharpe if they hope to slow down Floyd.

Strengths

  • Burst off the line of scrimmage is unreal at times; can be unblockable off the edge because of his quickness
  • Floyd’s motor never seems to stop running and it’s always at 100 mph.
  • Surprisingly strong for his body mass; can rip offensive tackles away from his body and pester the quarterback consistently.

Weaknesses

  • Needs to get stronger and thicker to last in the NFL trenches.
  • Tends to get nicked and hurt throughout the season. Has to prove he can play the majority of the season relatively healthy.
