No. 2 Alex Brown (1998-2001)
Alex Brown was a record-setter during his time at Florida.
During his sophomore year, he set Florida’s single-season sack record with 13. In his three collegiate seasons, he compiled 155 total tackles, three interceptions, one fumble recovery and a school-record 33 career sacks.
In his final collegiate game, Brown had one sack and six tackles to help lead the Gators to a 56-23 victory over the #10 Maryland Terrapins in the 2002 Orange Bowl.

In addition to his sack records and an Orange Bowl victory, Brown’s other accolades include:
- First-team All American in 1999 and 2001
- First-team All-SEC in 1999, 2000, and 2001
- SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2001
- SEC Champion in 2000
- UF Hall of Fame inductee in 2012
After graduating, Brown entered the 2002 NFL Draft and was picked 104th overall in the fourth round by the Chicago Bears.
He would appear in one Super Bowl in a nine-year career before retiring as a New Orleans Saint in 2010. He finished his NFL career with 411 total tackles, 45.5 sacks, 39 pass deflections, five interceptions, and 15 forced fumbles.
