No. 1 Judd Davis (1992-1994)

Taking the top spot as the greatest Gator kicker is Judd Davis.

Initially joining the football team as a walk-on player in 1991, Davis won the 1993 Lou Groza Award (the award given to the best kicker in the country) in his junior year. He is the only Gator kicker ever to win the award.

Davis’s Gator teams were also successful during his playing years as Florida won the Gator Bowl in 1992 and the Sugar Bowl in 1993.

After limited playing time as a freshman, Davis made the most of his final three years as a Gator. He hit 32 of 39 field goal attempts (82.1 field goal percentage), converted 129 extra points in 131 attempts (98.5 extra point percentage), and scored a grand total of 225 points.

In addition to his Lou Groza Award, Davis earned himself some other accolades which include:

  • First-team All-American in 1993
  • First-team All-SEC in 1994
  • SEC Champion in 1993 & 1994
  • UF Hall of Fame inductee in 2011

Similar to Phillips, Davis called it a career after his graduation from UF.

However, he will always have his place in Gator football lore as the only Lou Groza winner in school history.
