No. 5 Kyle Christy (2011-2014)

I begin with Kyle Christy.

Recently graduating from Florida after this past season, Christy is the only punter on this list. In four years of changing field positions for Florida, Christy totaled 181 career punts for 7,914 yards while averaging 43.7 yards per punt.
In his junior year in 2012, he was honored as a first-team All-American and first-team All-SEC selection.

I really enjoyed watching Christy during his time at Florida. I thought, out of all the players on Will Muschamp’s dreadful football teams these last two years, he was the most consistent, game-in and game-out.

Despite his consistency in an otherwise awful special teams unit, Christy was only considered for the Ray Guy Award (given to the best punter in the country) only once in 2012.

In addition to the award snub, he was not picked up by an NFL team in this year’s draft. Christy’s football career (up to this point) has reached a lukewarm conclusion after Gainesville.
