Aliijah Martin, Toronto Raptors
Summer League stats: 8.8 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.4 turnovers, 18.4 minutes per game.
Stats: 8.8 ppg, 2.8 reb, 1.6 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.4 TO, 18.4 mpg. 14/39 (.359) fg, 4-for-17 (.235) 3Pt, 12-13 FT).
Martin was the second Gator to come off the board in the 2025 NBA Draft, and flashed enough to warrant some excitement. He had two particularly excellent performances. He logged 16 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals against the Bulls in his Summer League debut and tallied 13 points and seven rebounds in 21 minutes against the Warriors.
As a mid-second round pick, Martin isn't expected to play an immediate role with Toronto. However, his performances showcased some of his NBA-ready traits.
He's an excellent rebounder for his size and plays pesky defense. But starting his NBA career on a two-way contract with a team that has solid backcourt depth means Martin is facing an uphill battle for NBA minutes.
Will Richard, Golden State Warriors
Summer League stats: 11.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.3 turnovers, 23.0 minutes per game
Richard played the most minutes of any former Gator in Summer League, and he was one of Golden State's most reliable scorers -- despite struggling from three-point range. He knocked down just six of his 29 attempts from distance, an uncharacteristic performance given he shot 35.5 percent from three in four collegiate seasons.
However, Richard's defensive impact carried over from NCAA to NBA action. He averaged 1.7 steals per game as a senior despite having logged fewer than one steal per game in his first two seasons in Gainesville.
If Richard can combine the two skills, he could fill a 3-and-D role that every team covets. Unlike Martin, Richard won't have a ton of competition for early minutes. With Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski manning the point guard and shooting guard spots, Moses Moody and two-way player Taran Armstrong are the only other guards on the current roster. Golden State is still expected to add in the backcourt, though.
