Heading into a home conference matchup against LSU, Florida Basketball finds itself near the top of the SEC in a recent bracketology projection.

Riding a four-game win streak, the defending champions are in protected seed territory, and there's still ample room for this Gators squad to rise.

With that, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi has updated his bracketology projections, and Florida's position might be a bit of a head scratcher for Florida fans.

Florida... didn't move?

Heading into this past Saturday, the Gators were playing their best ball of the season, eager for a challenging road test in Vanderbilt. Florida headed into the game No. 14 nationally in Joe Lunardi's bracketology rankings, ready to take down the then one-loss Commodores.

And in what many have described as the potential game of the season, the Gators did exactly that. They defeated Vanderbilt 98-94 in Nashville, demonstrating the lack of limits for this Gators squad when they're playing at their best.

But despite that eye-opening win, Florida did not move in Joe Lunardi's most recent bracketology projection, which he released earlier today.

The Gators held on to their position of No. 14 overall, not moving up nor down after the Q1A victory in Nashville.

Lunardi did include a small blurb on Florida's rise in the past few weeks, though it's probably information most fans would be fine without: "Defending champs are a four-seed thanks to a timely four-game win streak."

The Gators will take on LSU later tonight. The Tigers are currently the eighth team outside of the NCAA Tournament, according to Lunardi's bracketology.

A win isn't going to move mountains for Todd Golden and his team, but they'd appreciate adding their third Q2 win, especially one that isn't far off from turning Q1.

The Gators will be at full strength, while the Tigers will be missing Jalen Reed. Dedan Thomas could make his SEC debut against the Gators, as he's currently listed as "questionable" on the SEC Availability Report.
