Florida Basketball is one step away from the Final Four and will take on Texas Tech in the Elite Eight on Saturday.

Florida, the No. 1 seed in the West Region, advanced to the Elite Eight after a 87-71 victory over the Maryland Terrapins. The Gators previously beat Norfolk State and the two-time defending national champions, the UConn Huskies.

Texas Tech, the No. 3 seed, made it to the Elite Eight after knocking off Arkansas 85-83 in overtime. The Red Raiders had to overcome a 16-point deficit in that game. Previously, Texas Tech had beaten Drake and UNC Wilmington.

The winner moves on to the Final Four in San Antonio.

Florida is a 6.5 point favorite in this contest. Much of this contest will come down to the three-point shooting ability of Texas Tech compared to the size and rebounding advantage that Florida will have on paper.

This will be just the fourth time the two schools have squared off. After a home-and-home series in 1960 and 1962, the only other time Florida and Texas Tech have met in basketball was in 2018 when Florida lost to Texas Tech in Round Two of the NCAA Tournament 69-66.
