The Florida Gators will face the Auburn Tigers in the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four on Saturday.
Tip-off will be at 6:09 PM at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The game will be on CBS, the March Madness App, and FuboTV.
It's the 5th time two teams from the SEC have made it to the Final Four, but the first time two teams from the SEC have played each other in the Final Four. Both teams enter the game as No. 1 seeds. Florida secured its spot by defeating Texas Tech 84-79 in the Elite Eight, while Auburn advanced with a 70-64 victory over Michigan State.
The Gators and Tigers previously met on February 8, when Florida won 90-83. Walter Clayton Jr. had 18 points in that game while Alex Condon had 17 of his own. Alijah Martin did not play in that game as he was nursing a hip injury.
Auburn's standout Johni Broome averages 18.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game and is expected to be at full strength despite recent elbow and ankle injuries.
The winner of Saturday's matchup will move on to Monday to face the victor of the Duke vs. Houston matchup in the national title game. It would be Florida's 4th appearance all-time in the national title game should they advance.
Florida Basketball: Not Their First Rodeo
This is Florida's 6th time in the Final Four. They have an all-time record of 3-2 in the semifinal round. Their last appearance was in 2014 when the entered with a 30-game winning streak, took a 16-4 lead ten minutes into the game against UConn, before losing 63-53.
In 2007, Florida beat UCLA in the semifinals 76-66 before moving on to beat Ohio State 84-75. In 2006, Florida beat George Mason 73-58 before beating UCLA 73-57 to win their first national title in program history.
