Prior to the start of the season, plenty of Gator fans had high hopes for the wide receiver trio of Vernell Brown III, Dallas Wilson, and Eric Singleton Jr. That trio lasted all of one drive as Singleton was rolled up on in Florida’s opener against FAU. Singleton wound up playing against Ole Miss, but that was out of necessity as VB3 had to exit with an injury.

Florida’s availability report for this Saturday’s game against Missouri is out, and while it is short, it suggests Florida might not have all three key receivers at the same time again.

Vernell Brown III is questionable for this Saturday against Missouri

On the initial availability report, Brown and Bailey Stockton are both listed as questionable. Stockton is recovering from the hit he took against Ole Miss that resulted in a targeting call and is mainly rehabbing his back. Brown, meanwhile, left with a right knee strain.

Also notable is that Singleton isn't listed on the report.

Sumrall touched on the status of Brown earlier this week:

“Nothing serious. I mean, relative to what you could get, we got great news. After the imaging and everything, the MRI revealed nothing that is long-term. It's right now really going to be as much of a pain tolerance and a confidence with him being ready to go.”

If Brown can’t go, look for TJ Abrams and Kahleil Jackson to step up for the bulk of his snaps. If Stockton winds up playing, he too should see snaps, but he has been mainly used in the slot to fill in for Singleton.

The real conundrum for Florida if both Brown and Stockton can’t go is what to do at punt returner. Stockton wound up returning from his crunching blow against Ole Miss to later return a punt for 16 yards. If he winds up being out, the next man up on paper would be freshman Justin Williams, who muffed a punt against Campbell.

As a whole, Florida is in much better shape than Missouri on the injury front. Most notably for the Tigers is the status of running back Ahmad Hardy, who is still recovering from a gunshot wound he suffered in the offseason. At SEC Media Days, Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz had hinted there was a pathway for Hardy to be ready by this point in the season, but there have been setbacks, and he is listed as out.
