As is the case in the modern era of college football, Florida had their regular season ended on Saturday night, and by Sunday afternoon, word had already started coming out of players hitting the transfer portal.

It was reported yesterday that two notable names who didn't play much in 2024 are off to the portal to find a new home.

Florida Football: A New Beginning

Andy Jean was part of the trio of wide receivers Florida brought in as part of the class of 2023, along with Eugene Wilson and Aidan Mizell. Jean had the lowest star rating of the three, but he was a player we still had high hopes.

When he committed to Florida back in July 2022, we said:

"Jean is a member of Northwestern's state championship-winning 4 x 1 squad in track, and his speed consistently shows up in his game film.

Even against high caliber opponents like Tampa Jesuit and IMG Academy, Jean has multiple plays on his film where he simply outruns everyone to score a touchdown."

Jean played 93 snaps in 2023, but a combination of injuries and the addition of Chimere Dike and Elijhah Badger kept Jean buried down the depth chart, and he only played against Mississippi State in 2024.

Jean will still have three years of eligibility left.

Justus Boone hitting the portal also isn't a surprise given how his season went, but it is a bit surprising considering the role many thought he would play in 2024.

Boone missed out on the 2023 season after an ACL injury but had a productive 2022 campaign that gave many high hopes for 2024.

He was tagged for a roughing the passer call against Miami, and he never seemed to recover from that moment. After taking 20 snaps in the opener, Boone never topped 20 snaps again as Jack Pyburn and Tyreak Sapp wound up beating him out for snaps, and by season's end, it wasn't uncommon for Boone to get single-digit snaps.

On paper, Boone has one season of eligibility left.
