After winning the 2025 National Championship, the University of Florida men's basketball program is looking to go back-to-back in 2026. The Gators are no strangers to winning consecutive titles, having done so in 2006 and 2007 under Billy Donovan.

Interestingly, current head coach Todd Golden sees some similarities between the teams.

In an interview with CBS College Basketball insider Jon Rothstein, Golden likened rising junior Thomas Haugh, who's set to play the small forward position in 2025, to Corey Brewer -- a key member of the '06 and '07 squads.

"(W)e're gonna move Tommy down to the three and kind of use his athleticism, his length, his physicality, and he's just been shooting the ball so well that it gives us that Corey Brewer-esque type wing."

It's incredibly high praise for Haugh, who started in five of 40 games a season ago while averaging 9.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 24.3 minutes. Still, it's easy to see where the comparison comes from.

Haugh and Brewer are both listed at 6-foot-9 and were plus-rebounders and impressive defenders.

And with the significant growth Haugh showed as a shooter in 2024-25, improving his three-point percentage from 25.5 percent to 34 percent on double the volume, their offensive games are nearly identical.

Statistically, Haugh lags behind in points per game, but expect that gap to be closed in 2025-26 as he transitions to a full-time starting role.

Haugh had been buried on the depth chart at the forward spot behind Alex Condon and Rueben Chinyelu a season ago.

However, Haugh's growth as a shooter and improved perimeter game has allowed him to move alongside Condon and Chinyelu in the starting lineup for the upcoming season -- a move Golden confirmed during the interview.

And with Walter Clayton, Will Richard and Alijah Martin all graduating, there's a ton of scoring production available for the taking. Transfers Boogie Fland and Xaivian Lee figure to snap up most of the opportunities, but Haugh could emerge as a go-to option while the transfers acclimate to a new program.
