When news broke last week that Boogie Fland was withdrawing from the NBA Draft, speculation on whether or not he would wind up with the Florida Gators started to run rampant. Fland is considered one of the top players in the transfer portal and would instantly turn Florida into one of the favorites to win the naitonal title in 2026.
The Gators appear to be one step closer to making that a reality as Fland is now slated to make an official visit to Gainesville.
Boogie Fland To Visit Florida
A number of outlets have reported that Fland is going to visit Florida this week. The plan is for him to be in Gainesville on Monday and Tuesday and the hope for Florida is that they can get him to commit before he takes any other visits.
Fland was a key cog for Arkansas during the 2024/25 season, but he sustained a thumb injury in their game against Florida that eventually derailed the back half of his season.
Prior to his injury, Fland scored at least 15 points in eleven of his first seventeen games and was north of 40% shooting. He also had an assist-to-turnover ratio that was nearly five-to-one, and his assist-to-field goals ratio was nearly one-to-one.
Florida and Fland have been connected throughout the transfer portal cycle, with some hinting Fland could command as much as $7 million in NIL money.
That has largely been seen as unrealistic, but it wouldn't be shocking to see him approach $3 million.
The common belief is that Fland does have a strong interest in Florida; it's just a matter of whether or not the two sides can strike a deal. North Carolina and Texas Tech are among the other schools that could swoop in to try and also make a deal.
If Fland does commit to Florida, and Alex Condon opts to come back instead of staying in the NBA Draft, the Gators would have all the pieces needed to try and repeat in 2026.
