Heading into the week, Florida Basketball had four games left in the regular season, and despite their dominant season, seeds were already planted that wanted to move the Gators off being a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.
Then Florida lost to Georgia to complicate their pathway to a top seed line.
But in the SEC, there is no rest for the weary as 12th-ranked Texas A&M is in town along with College GameDay as the Gators look to get back on track. The following are three areas Florida needs to watch out for with the Aggies.
Offensive Rebounding
We know the calling card for the Gators over the past couple of years has been its ability to collect offensive rebounds, but their defensive rebounding isn't quite as elite.
In this regard, the Aggies come to town with a similar DNA as Texas A&M, which is second in the country at offensive rebounding, collecting their own miss 39.6% of the time.
Drawing Contact
In another parallel to Florida, the Aggies are even worse than Florida at free throw shooting, converting just 69.5% of their charity stripe visits. That's 266th in the country.
But that doesn't mean Texas A&M won't be there a ton. The Aggies make 16.9 free throws per game, which is 21st in the country. They are 23rd at free throw attempts per field goal attempts.
Pace Of Play
Florida isn't actually playing at a breakneck pace this season and is just 95th in possession per game.
But if you thought on Tuesday that Georgia and the fighting Mike White's were prone to take the air out of the ball at times, Texas A&M likes to play even slower than the Bulldogs.
The Aggies are 202nd in the country in total possession per game, which means if they have a shooter turn into Steph Curry early, there will be limited possessions for Florida to stage a comeback.
