This compliment Tim Tebow just gave Jon Sumrall might be the highest he's received yet

Jon Sumrall just got one of the highest compliments a coach at the University of Florida could get, and it came from one of the greatest Gators to ever play. 

Live on “Bussin’ & Pate on Campus Presented by Bud Light,” Gator great Tim Tebow sang the praises of Sumrall by comparing him to coaching legends Steve Spurrier and Urban Meyer.

“I liked him when we hired him, I love him the more I’ve gotten to know him,” said Tebow. And Tebow said he doesn’t just love him as a coach, but as a person, a husband, and a father.

The former Florida quarterback talked about the obvious: it’s not easy to coach at a program like the University of Florida and to deal with the fans. There’s pressure. There are a lot of eyes on the program. And you have to earn the respect of the fans, and of college football analysts who expect Florida to be a top competitor. “Sometimes really good isn’t good enough,” he said.

Tebow said the greatest coaches at Florida, Spurrier and Urban Meyer, both had charisma and confidence that bordered on arrogance. He noted Spurrier believing no one could stop Florida’s verticals; he said with Meyer, his phrase was “four to six seconds relentless effort and focus, you won’t stop us. Period, end of story.” It was a confidence and a belief in what the program was doing, and that the team was able to be unstoppable.

Tebow described it as “The it factor” that changes a program, and he said Sumrall has that “it” factor that Spurrier and Meyer had that no other coaches at Florida have had since.

“I think (Jon) Sumrall has the ability to bring that and I’m hoping that continues to kind of develop,” said Tebow.

While this was a praise to Sumrall, inadvertently the name not included in having that “confidence charisma that borderlines on arrogance” was Billy Napier. While Tebow didn’t specify it, it’s clear that he has taken to Sumrall more and has more belief that Sumrall can turn the Gator program around and bring it back to it’s bowl-eligibility, playoff contention ways.
