As Florida gets ready to take on Ole Miss inside The Swamp, the last seven day have been busy with the Gators. As always, it can sometimes be difficult to keep up with everything happening in Gainesville.
So this is our weekly rundown of all the major headlines from the past seven days with the Gators.
Florida passes its first SEC test with a 44–39 win at Auburn
We talked all offseason about how last week’s game was going to be a massive litmus test for Jon Sumrall, given the apples-to-apples comparison to Aubrn and Alex Golesh. For the most part, the Gators passed and moved to 3-0 for the first time since 2019.

Florida is now No. 21 in the country. There are plenty of arguments as to why they should be ranked higher, but it does set up a ranked showdown with No. 4 Ole Miss.

Some of the early momentum from soccer has stalled out a bit as three games into SEC play the Gators are 0-1-2. The Gators had a 1-1 draw against a respectable Texas squad on Thursday, and probably desereved a better fate after 14 second half shots. Florida takes on Texas A&M on Sunday.
Sumrall puts Florida’s secondary on notice before Ole Miss arrives
Jon Sumrall made it very clear that if the secondary for Florida doesn’t improve, Ole Miss is going to run up and down the field on the Gators on Saturday.
Florida’s short injury report offers another reason for optimism
Thursday’s coverage lists Eric Singleton Jr. on the availability report, with the receiver questionable. The remarkable part is that he is the only Gator on the report, which is a 180 from the previous coaching staff.

Florida enters Ole Miss week ranked lower, but favored to win
Vegas always finds a way, and that is going to be put to the test this Saturday as Florida is ranked lower than Ole Miss, but Vegas has Florida as the favorite. The public money flooding towards Ole Miss hasn’t caused Vegas to budge either.
