Former Florida Gator quarterback Anthony Richardson had himself a weekend at Colts training camp this weekend, making it look like he never injured that right shoulder. Richardson was seen throwing jump passes, getting out of the pocket, throwing routes, and putting his talent on full display.

Richardson only played in four games for the Colts in his first season in 2023 as he underwent season-ending surgery to repair an AC joint sprain in his right throwing shoulder.

After returning to play in 2024, it was for just 11 games as he missed two games to an oblique injury (Weeks 5 and 6), two games due to being benched (Weeks 9 & 10), and two weeks to a back injury (Weeks 17 & 18). After going down with the shoulder injury in 2023, Richardson struggled with consistency in his return to the field in 2024. He was 126-264 in completion attempts, throwing for just 47.7 percent. He threw for eight touchdowns, but had 12 interceptions and was sacked 14 times. His struggles led to his benching and made people begin to wonder if he would return to full health from the shoulder setback.

Richardson then appeared to have tweaked his right arm again during mini-camp in June, which sidelined him for a few weeks. But on Wednesday, when he returned to camp, he put to rest any concerns that his shoulder was back to where it started or was going to shut him down for a longer duration than expected.

Upon his return Wednesday, he performed without limitation, and he looked like he was on a mission to out-throw and out-play Daniel Jones and earn his position as QB1.

The Former gator was making throws while “in-stride,” throwing with ease and no limitation, and was finding the hands of his receivers. If Richardson continues on the trend he’s on now and continues to throw like he did over the weekend, it could be a fun season for Colts fans watching Richardson lead the charge on offense.
