One of the pivot points for the Florida Gators in 2024 was when Graham Mertz was hurt against Tennessee, and DJ Lagway had to take the reins at QB for the rest of the season. Florida would go and turn its season around while Mertz was able to rehab to the point where he was still drafted by the Houston Texans back in April.
What many Gator fans didn't get to see was what that rehab process looked like for Mertz, and a new Netflix series coming out in August looks like it will give us a glimpse.
Graham Mertz featured in new Netflix trailer
Netflix dropped its trailer for "SEC Football: Any Given Saturday." The cover for the trailer features DJ Lagway, and the star QB is seen throughout the trailer, but there is a pivot towards the end that features Mertz.
It shows Mertz in a hospital bed following his torn ACL against Tennessee, with him saying, "Whenever something goes bad, I can either feel sorry for myself, or I can embrace it and attack it. I still got a job to do."
It then shows a couple of shots of him going through rehab at the Florida facility.

The series was shot during the 2024 season, and the trailer features LSU, Vanderbilt, and South Carolina, the most prominent, though a good chunk of the SEC, including Florida, is also featured throughout.
According to Netflix, the series will be "Providing unfiltered access to coaches and players in college football's most dominant conference and giving an exclusive look at key matchups throughout the season."
The same producers who made this series produce the series as Formula 1: Drive to Survive and Full Swing. The series is set to be released on Netflix on August 5.
