Even if you are a pop culture novice, all Florida Basketball fans can relate to Taylor Swift's song Exile when she says, "I think I've seen this film before, and I didn't like the ending."
It is fair to have those feelings after Florida went into the locker room against LSU trailing at halftime. But then one is reminded that Todd Golden is not Mike White and that an inevitable second-half run was incoming as Florida overcame a six-point halftime deficit to storm past Tiger 79-65 to move to 24-3 on the season.
Florida Basketball: Another One
It may be a placebo effect, but Florida has a way of making opposing shooters turn into Steph Curry in the first half of games. But unlike against Missouri, the Gators were able to keep contact so that when things stabilized, they were able to go on one of their patented runs.
And as has been the case all season, it wasn't just a one-man show that allowed Florida to claw back into the picture.
Rueben Chinyelu led the way with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds. He wasn't the only Gator with a double-double as Thomas Haugh also had 16 points and 10 rebounds,
All the while, Walter Clayton put up 13 points with six rebounds. Alijah Martin and Denzel Aberdeen also reached double digits in points, giving Florida five players to reach 10+ points.
The win won't give Florida much of a boost in the NET rankings as they try to hang onto their number-one seed, but a loss would have been devastating. As it stands, Florida will travel to Athens to face Georiga before hosting Texas A&M while College Gameday is in town.
Florida is now 24-3 on the season, with four games left until the SEC Tournament in Nashville.
