For the most part in the NFL, players tend to keep whatever drama they have with coaches in-house. There may be visible disagreements on the sidelines, but when it comes to media interviews everyone is on the same page to not cause "distractions."

But now that New Orleans Saints star Cameron Jordan and former Florida Gators defensive coordinator Todd Grantham no longer work together, Jordan went scorched Earth on Grantham in a recent podcast interview.

Cameron Jordan rips into Todd Grantham

Appearing on the podcast The Set with former Saints teammate Terron Armstead, Jordan opened up about the 2024 season and his experience with Grantham, who was the Saints DL coach for 2023 and 2024:

"There was a game last year that I walked off into this tunnel, and I made a phone call, and then the next day we released probably the worst D-line coach I've ever had."

Jordan didn't stop there when reflecting on Grantham:

"It takes a lot for me to hate somebody. It's the passive-aggressive, 'Hey man, you're one of our starters, but also here's one play, take you out. Eight plays later, I got you.' One play, take you out. But, hey, man, we're relying on you, bro. Just shoot me straight. And if you want me to get out of here, send me."

Grantham was the defensive coordinator for the Florida Gators from 2018 through 2021 alongside Dan Mullen. While his defenses could overwhelm weaker teams and put up some decent-looking metrics, they were usually exploited against teams who knew what they were doing.

After the defense in 2020 essentially cost Florida a shot at the national title, Grantham was in the crosshairs for Gators fans, and as the 2021 season fell apart, it was obvious Grantham needed to go.

It wasn't until a 40-17 loss to South Carolina that Grantham was fired.

He went on to a stint with Alabama before landing with the Saints. After being let go by the Saints, Grantham is with Oklahoma State as their defensive coordinator for the 2025 season.
