Rueben Chinyelu has declared for the NBA Draft, but again it comes with a caveat.
The James Naismith Defensive Player of the Year says he will stay in the draft, but hold the option of returning to the Florida Gators should he withdraw. Chinyelu has been projected as a second-round pick, likely somewhere between the 35th and 50th picks.

You know what you're going to get with Chinyelu and nearly every NBA team needs a guy like him on the roster. He is a top-end defensive presence around the paint that is willing to sell out for every rebound. Chinyelu will protect the rim, and he's a big man (6-foot-10, 260 pounds) that won't be pushed around. He is pretty limited in what he can do offensively, but with his offensive rebounding prowess, Chinyelu can make a career off of put backs, second-chance scoring and finishing on the break.
Rueben Chinyelu will stay in the NBA Draft...for now
When you think of what Rueben Chinyelu could be in the NBA, right away the comparison to Ben Wallace seems pretty accurate. Wallace was undrafted coming out of Division II program Virginia Union, but he became a multi-time All-Star, 4-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year and a Basketball Hall of Famer despite never having much of an offensive game. So there is a great path for players with Chinyelu's skill set, plus he has the advantage of playing at Florida, where he won a national championship and battled against some of the best players in the world.
Chinyelu had a standout junior season, averaging 10.9 points and 11.2 rebounds per game, and he set Florida records this past season with 19 double-doubles and 137 offensive rebounds.
If he were to return, it gives Golden two of his "Big Three" with Alex Condon and Chinyelu as the roster centerpieces for another potential tournament run. With the uncertainty around Chinyelu's commitment to staying in the draft, Golden has to balance between trying to put together a roster with another front court presence, while saving space for Chinyelu to return if he chooses to withdraw later.
Chinyelu is likely looking for a guaranteed contract, which is a team option for second-round picks. If he gets a promise of guaranteed money, the likelihood of him staying in the draft is much higher. Meanwhile, Golden will just have to wait and see what happens.
