With Shemar James declaring for the NFL Draft, there are not many members left of the class of 2022 for Florida Football still in Gainesville. This class was a mixture of Dan Mullen guys combined with Billy Napier, who hastily put together a class after being hired by Florida.

With that in mind, let's look back at who panned out and who didn't. Players are listed in order of their ranking from 247 Sports.

Kamari Wilson

IMG Academy (Bradenton, FL)

When Kamari Wilson signed with Florida, people were excited because it looked like the Gators had finally cracked IMG. He played over 300 snaps as a true freshman and Gator fans were hoping for big things from him in 2023.

Instead, he lost out in the rotation and quietly disappeared from the team. He then transferred to Arizona State, where he took 110 snaps for the Sun Devils in 2024.

Chris McClellan

Owasso (Owasso, OK)

He committed to Florida during the window when Dan Mullen was fired and before Billy Napier was hired. He took almost 300 snaps in 2022 and in 2023, but opted to transfer to Missouri last offseason.

This year, he took over 400 snaps and made 22 "defensive stops" during the season.

Shemar James

Faith Academy (Mobile, AL)

The inspiration for this list, Shemar James leaves Gainesville as the most accomplished member of the group.

His knee injury in 2023 was a bummer, but James was a solid presence in the middle of the field for three seasons in Gainesville.

Jamari Lyons

Viera (Melbourne, FL)

He hasn't had the breakthrough yet in Gainesville, though there is a pathway he could get 300+ snaps in 2025.

So far, Jamari Lyons took just under 200 snaps in 2023, was ejected against FSU, and then was injured in training camp and lost for the 2024 season.

Devin Moore

Naples (Naples, FL)

When he has been on the field he has been solid enough, but injuries have prevented Devin Moore from taking more than 300 snaps in a single season.

Expect Moore to be a contributor in 2025 if he stays healthy.

Arlis Boardingham

Birmingham (Van Nuys, CA)

He saw a ton of action in 2023, and a number of fans were hoping Arlis Boardingham would take a step forward in 2024.

Instead, Boardingham saw himself get cycled out of the tight end rotation, and he has since hit the transfer portal.

Caleb Douglas

Hightower (Missouri City, TX)

During his two seasons in Gainesville, Caleb Douglas felt like someone the Gators should have featured more. But he got hurt against Kentucky in 2023 and hit the portal at the end of year.

He had a nice season with Texas Tech in 2024, hauling in 54 catches for 769 yards.

Andrew Savaiinaea

Graham-Kapowsin (Graham, WA)

After not playing a down in two seasons at Florida, Andrew Savaiinaea hit the portal and wound up at Nevada.

In 2024, he had 357 snaps with six catches for 35 yards.

Trevor Etienne

Jennings (Jennings, LA)

Well, you know...

Jack Pyburn

The Bolles School (Jacksonville, FL)

Well, you know... again...

Max Brown

Lincoln Christian School (Tulsa, OK)

If Florida stops 4th and 17 against Missouri, Max Brown goes down as a cult hero in Gainesville.

Instead, he couldn't recreate the magic the following week against FSU, and he hit the portal to go to Charlotte, where he was the starter to begin the year, but injuries hampered his season.

Tony Livingston

King (Tampa, FL)

We'll just say Tony Livingston took the long way around to actually wind up on the Florida campus.

But, he started to emerge as a serviceable rotational tight end at the end of 2024 and even had four catches in the Gasparilla Bowl.

Jalen Farmer

Eastside (Covington, GA)

After not cracking the rotation in Gainesville, Jalen Farmer left for Kentucky and was a starter for the Wildcats in 2024.

Christian Williams

Fort Bend Marshall (Missouri City, TX)

In three years in Gainesville, Christian Williams took a total of 39 snaps. He has hit the transfer portal.

Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman

Independence C.C. (Independence, KS)

After seven catches in 2022, Thai Chiaokhiao-Bowman had zero catches in 2023 and hit the portal to go to Rice.

In 2024, he had 15 catches for 128 yards.

David Conner

Deerfield Beach (Deerfield Beach, FL)

David Conner hit the portal after the 2022 season to Colorado. After taking zero snaps with Deion Sanders, he hit the portal to Texas State.

He did not take any snaps with Texas State in 2024.

Miguel Mitchell

Oxford (Oxford, AL)

He took a bunch of snaps for Florida in 2023, but didn't have a great year and hit the portal for Arkansas.

In 2024, Miguel Mitchell was injured for the bulk of the season and didn't start playing until the back end of the year.

Hayden Hansen

Weatherford (Weatherford, TX)

He has morphed into a mainstay of Billy Napier's offense as the primary blocking tight end who can sneak out for two catches a game.

Hansen took over 600 snaps in 2024.

Trey Smack

Severna Park (Severna Park, MD)

He wasn't the starting kicker heading into 2023, but early kicking woes forced Napier to give Trey Smack a go, and for the most part, he has not disappointed.

Smack's three field goals of at least 50 yards in 2024 were the 13th most in the country.

Jordan Herman

Hutchinson C.C. (Hutchinson, KS)

After just 28 snaps over two seasons in Gainesville, Jordan Herman transferred to UNC Charlotte.

After starting in their first game in 2024, Herman was a rotational left tackle.

Keenan Landry

Mississippi Gulf Coast C.C. (Perkinston, MS)

Keenan Landry only took seven snaps over two seasons before hitting the portal to go to Kent State.

This year, he had 208 snaps with nine "defensive stops."
