Rumblings of renovations to The Swamp have long been floating around, and it appears that we are getting one step closer to it becoming a reality for Florida Gator fans. Swamp247 has reported that a public meeting on October 23rd will discuss agents to commission a nearly $400 million renovation plan, with plans of having renovations done by 2030.
Based on renderings floating around, The Swamp will look great, with just one small caveat that is bound to squeeze out Gator fans.
The Swamp set to get renovations
A rendering of an upgraded Swamp was floating around social media on Thursday. These weren't "leaked" renderings as these technically had been available in a previously released document, but they do showcase what a new look Swamp could look like.

At the core of the upgrades are wrap-around club seats, including a section that would go above the student section.
Swamp247 also noted in the documents they obtained that in 2029, seating in The Swamp would get reduced to 80,000 and settle at 84,000 by the time things are finished.
If you are keeping score at home, the official capacity in The Swamp is 88,548, though we have seen it climb north of 93,000 at times. Scott Stricklin did hint over the summer that capacity would need to be reduced because once renovations start, it triggers the ADA act, and some of the upgrades would require seating to be reduced.
The concern Gator fans have is what ticket prices will look like once the university has to make up the loss of 4,000 tickets.
There is also the backdrop and reality that much of what will make the new look Swamp look nice are club and premium seats that 99% of Gator fans will never sit in.
So be prepared for a couple of seasons of headaches and hold your breath when the ticket renewal packages come in the mail.
