With refinement, Florida Football commit Devin Jackson has the chance to be elite
Florida Football had a busy day of recruiting yesterday. The Gators secured three commitments in a short span of time.
One of their prospects may not be high up on national radars at the moment, but it has all the tools needed to be an elite safety when all is said and done.
Florida Football: Stay Safe
Devin Jackson is a class of 2026 safety out of Winter Gardens. Listed at 6'2" and 185 pounds, Jackson is a consensus three-star prospect from all four major services.
But based on the film, it isn't hard to envision Jackson as a high four-star by the time his high school career is over. Jackson has all the athleticism one could want out of a 2026 safety. He hits hard, generally speaking, reads the play well, and even when he doesn't, he has the speed to recover and still make a play on the ball.
Compared to a lot of 2026 safeties, Jackson feels like he has a much higher ceiling than most. Georgia, LSU, and Ole Miss are among the recent offers Jackson has collected over the summer.
Yet, for now, Jackson is pledged to the Florida Gators. Jackson has been to Gainesville an array of times over the past year, including this past weekend's Grill in the Ville. As is the case with any 2026 prospect, there will still be a long way to go for Jackson to arrive on campus as an official Gator, but Billy Napier is building the foundation for a great 2026 class.
In addition to Jackson, the Gators already have commitments from quarterback Will Griffin and defensive back Jalen Waters for their class of 2026. Assuming Jackson will continue to rise in the rankings if he reaches his full potential, Florida is looking like it will have a much better 2026 class than what its 2025 class is trending to be.
