One of the reasons Florida fans are skittish on ever hiring Lane Kiffin to be the coach of the Gators is because there is a ceiling to Kiffin that falls short of ever actually winning an SEC title. Kiffin has been a Power Five coach now for nine seasons. He has won nine or more games in just three of those seasons and he has never done better than a 10-2 season.

We talked about Mississippi State being a gatekeeper to a halfway decent season. Lane Kiffin is the gatekeeper for teams that want to make the playoffs.

Florida isn't making the playoffs in 2024 either way and Ole Miss has the benefit of being on a bye while the Gators play LSU.

So right now we are predicting a loss, but there is enough variance with Kiffin that we aren't ruling the Gators out.
