During the 2023 season, we rolled out our Hail Florida Hail Confidence Meter. This was a gut feeling of how much of a chance we gave Florida football on a game-by-game basis.

For the most part, our confidence meter held up. If we listed a percentage around 40%, it meant we felt Florida would have a shot but was probably going to fall short.

Likewise, if we listed 60% we thought Florida would win, but we also acknowledge the deficiencies the Gators have that could lead to a close loss.

We still don't know Florida's official roster for 2024, as the Gators have yet to sign anyone out of the transfer portal. But with Florida's schedule officially set in stone for 2024, this is our gut feeling as it stands right now for each game of the 2024 season.

August 31 vs Miami

  • Hail Florida Hail Confidence Meter - 55%

As we are going to state throughout these predictions, Florida has a lot of work to do to improve the squad we saw in 2023. But it is also true that Florida was two plays away from a 7-5 season while playing a difficult schedule.

Their week one opponent know a thing or two about being one play away from winning as Billy Napier will open his sink or swim season against the Miami Hurricanes.

On neutral field, this game is probably a straight up coin toss. Miami will be breaking in a new QB with the departure of Tyler Van Dyke to the transfer portal,

Given this game will be at home, we will give Florida the slight 5% bump to make our confidence 55%.
