It's June, and thus it is still early, but soon Florida Football is going to need to make some moves with their class of 2025. As it stands now the Gators have five commits in the class and are well outside the top 25 in team rankings for recruiting.

If Billy Napier and crew follow their normal pattern, when the recruits do commit they will commit in a big wave. And the Gators are hoping a legacy prospect can be the one to jump start that wave.

Florida Football: Family Tree

When we profiled Brown back in February, no one had him higher than 216th in the country. We said at the time that he for sure was a top 150 prospect based on film.

"His burst off the line is immediate and his speed to get behind secondaries causes consistent problems for opponents. When in space, opponents have zero hope of tackling him and every time he touches the ball is a chance for six points.

Brown is a two-way player, but projects best as a wide receiver. What seems to be working against his ranking is his height, but his play style is similar to that of Tre Wilson and height doesn't seem to slow Wilson down either."

Sure enough as the rankings have updated since then, Brown is now a top 50 prospect in three of the four services and is knocking on the door of being a five-star prospect.

The belief has been that Ohio State was in the lead for this services, but numerous insiders including
Steve Wiltfong of On3 are starting to hint that Florida might be in the lead for Brown.

One of the big angles for Florida is that Brown's father, Vernell Brown Jr., was a defensive back with the Gators from 2001 through 2005 and worked in the athletic offices at Florida. Brown feels like the type of player Napier needs to land if he plans on having a solid class for 2025.
