Scott Steiner once said "The numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you," and right now the numbers for Florida Football and their class of 2025 aren't the greatest. According to the 247 Composite, the Gators are ranked 67th in the country and next to last in the SEC.

Now as we here at Hail Florida Hail have written, July is not a time for panic but it is a time to be paying attention. While Florida has missed out on key targets, they do have options still on the board which can boost their class.

The following are three players who alone would boost Florida up 25 spots according to 247's class calculator and would give the Gators a much needed shot in the arm for their 2025 class.

Vernell Brown III

We have mentioned Vernell Brown quite a few times on the site. The legacy wide receiver recently got boosted to a composite five-star prospect and is considered a top 50 overall prospect.

A couple of weeks ago a wave of predictions rolled in for Brown to wind up becoming a Gator. And if Florida can seal the deal with him, the Gators have the potential for a really solid trio of receivers for their class of 2025, with Joshua Moore already committed and hopefully Naeshaun Montgomery committing soon.

Ben Hanks Jr.

Another top 100 overall prospect who is also a legacy, Ben Hanks Jr. is a defensive back from Miami. When we profiled him back in April we said:

"On film he tends to play deep off the ball, but he has such a good read of the game that he is able to explode and make interceptions. There are also cases where opponents will try and take advantage of his alignment and dial up a screen, only for Hanks to come downhill and still make the tackle behind the line of scrimmage."

Given what Florida's board looks like at corner, it will look dicey real quick if Florida can't seal the deal with Hanks Jr.

Bryce Fitzgerald and/or Lagonza Hayward

We are cheating a little bit on this one, but the reality is the Gators needs to land at least one of these prospects. Florida's recruitment of safeties for 2025 has been a bit of an odyssey, and Hylton Stubbs choosing Miami didn't help it.

Bryce Fitzgerald is the more likely of the two to choose Florida, but the Gators will have to beat out Miami and FSU. Lagonza Hayward is the higher ranked safety and only recently has come into the picture for Florida. He is set to announce by the end of July with Tennessee as the main team to beat.
