Three members of Florida Football who should see an increased role in 2024

Most of Florida's roster will look familiar, but some players will see extra snaps compared to 2023

One of the narratives coming out of the 2023 season for Florida Football was how young the Gators were. For better or for worse, this means that a ton of members from last year are back for the 2024 season, meaning a bunch of the Gators who take the field on August 31 against Miami will be familiar faces for Gator fans.

But not everyone came back and this has left some openings for guys on the team to fill. The following are three players who were on the team last year we expect to see increased playing time in 2024.

Treyaun Webb (Running Back)

Last year Treyaun Webb was stuck behind Montrell Johnson and Trevor Eitenne on the depth chart. Johnson is back for 2024. The other guy no so much, so there is an opening for RB2 on the squad.

Webb had a handful of carries last season and was impressive against McNeese State, gaining 71 yards off 14 carries.

With true freshman Jadan Baugh looking impressive during Florida's spring game, along with fellow true freshman KD Daniels coming in with high expectations, Webb's spot is far from secure. But based on how Billy Napier has operated his first two seasons, it's going to be Webb's job to lose.

Sharif Denson (STAR)

Sharif Denson was another true freshman who didn't see much action for the bulk of 2023. Outside of a handful of snaps against McNesse State, Charlotte, and Vanderbilt, Denson was mainly relegated to special teams.

But against Missouri and FSU to close out the season, Denson had some meaningful snaps and looked great in the flashes we got to see him.

With Jaydon Hill departing for Texas A&M, look for Denson to lock down the STAR position.

Knijeah Harris (Left Guard)

According to Pro Football Focus, Knijeah Harris was Florida's best offensive lineman in 2023. Harris had 171 snaps last year between left and right guard and didn't allow a single sack while only allowing one pressure.

With both of Florida's starting guards from last year gone to the transfer portal (Micah Mazzccua and Richie Leonard IV), the assumption is that Damieon George is going to slide to right guard and Harris will get first crack at left guard.
