After losing against seven straight FBS opponents, Florida Football cruised to a 45-28 victory over Mississippi State on Saturday in Starkville.

Now, don't be completely fooled into thinking everything has been magically fixed since this is the same Mississippi State squad that lost to Toledo 41-17 a week before. But there were three bright spots from Florida that we here at Hail Florida Hail do believe can transfer over into the coming weeks.

Aidan Mizell

Prior to the game, we highlighted our desire for Aidan Mizell to get an increase in snaps. With Tre Wilson out, Mizell had 22 snaps against Texas A&M, but we wanted to see that number north of 30.

Mizell played 34 snaps on offense and while his official stat line will tell you he had five catches for 34 yards, it should have been much higher.

Mizell had a long touchdown called back when he was correctly called down upon review. He then had a second trip to the endzone called back because Montrell Johnson dared to block someone.

Mizell looks explosive, and even when Wilson comes back, the Gators need to keep his snap count north of 30.

Jason Marshall

Last year, Jason Marshall was floated as a potential first-round draft pick before a disappointing season required him to return for his senior campaign.

For the second week in a row, Marshall looks like the NFL prospect people were hyping him up to be last year. Marshall was targeted three times and didn't allow a reception. He was also credited with a pass break up for the second week in a row.

While other elements of the secondary have had their problems, Marshall isn't one of them.

Treyaun Webb

Pro Football Focus would tell you that Treyaun Webb had a ho-hum game and graded him 65.7. But the eyeball test for most Gator fans would tell you Webb needs to keep getting the ball more and more.

He did have eight carries for 41 yards, sporting a 5.1 yards per attempt. But the reason why fans are taking notice is because of hard he runs into the hole.

He was credited with an average of 3.75 yards after contact on Saturday. By comparison, Johnson was at 2.93 yards after contact on Saturday and only had four games total last year where he averaged better than 3.75 yards after contact.
