During his time with Florida Football, Scooby Williams never quite developed into the player many hoped for. There were flashes here and there, but missed tackles ultimately kept Williams from being a reliable player.

This offseason, Williams transferred to Texas A&M, and the Aggies will be in The Swamp on Saturday.

Shemar James, on Monday, laid out the game plan for attacking his former teammate.

Florida Football: Have No Fear

James was asked about what it would be like to face Williams and Jaydon Hill on Saturday.

"I told (Treyaun) Webb a couple minute ago, if you see J-Hill or Scooby, just run at them. I don't care if it's a touchdown, run that way, run at 'em. Those are my guys, but come Saturday, they're opponents again. I wish them the best, and I wish Texas A&M the best."

Whether or not James is just expressing confidence and engaging in some friendly banter, there is some sound strategic advice behind what he said.

Last year, 288 linebackers around the country took at least 400 snaps. Of those, Williams had the 17th worst missed tackle rate in the country, whiffing at a rate of 22.4% of the time. Williams also had two missed tackles against Notre Dame in their season opener.

Williams missed Texas A&M's game against McNeese State last week with an injury. Hill only played five snaps against Notre Dame but did play 36 snaps against McNeese State. Hill didn't miss any tackles, but he was targeted four times and gave up four receptions last week.

Florida takes the field at 3:30 on Saturday inside The Swamp. Current odds have Florida as a four-point underdog.
